2025
The Iberoamerican Chitin Society and the International Federation of Chitin & Chitosan Societies are pleased to invite you to the 16th International Conference on Chitin & Chitosan, a joint meeting with the 9th Iberoamerican Chitin Symposium, to be held in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico.
Continuing with the initiative started during the 13th ICCC in Münster, Germany, in 2015, a Student Forum organized by graduate students will also be held at the premises of the Center for Research in Food and Development, CIAD, after the main Symposium, on October 30th.
The congress will feature three plenary and nine keynote lectures, all given by renowned international specialists. There will also be 30 contributed oral presentations and a large number of posters. Many specialists, researchers, entrepreneurs and students from the main international research groups are expected to attend the event.
National and international companies are also being invited to exhibit and promote their chitin and chitosan products, analytical instruments and relevant technologies.

How to prepare your poster contribution
Posters will be placed on tables with total dimensions not exceeding 100 cm-width by 60 cm-height (36 x 22 inches landscape format). They can be printed on standard papers (letter or A4 size) or on standard paper rolls that do not exceed the dimensions mentioned above. During the poster session, authors will see labels on the tables with the ID number for each contribution. Each author must then sit in the corresponding place, with their work displayed horizontally on the table. The delegates will pass on the other side of the table, will read it, and ask any questions they may have, as in a traditional poster session.
One-to-one Networking
Facilitating and propitiating networking and interactions among participants during our conference will be a central priority. To support this goal, we have implemented the digital board Padlet—a user-friendly, visual, and intuitive platform.
This board enables to identify colleagues and facilitates the scheduling of meetings during the “1-to-1 Networking” session planned for Tuesday afternoon. We anticipate that the networking session will be especially valuable for early-career researchers seeking connections with senior academics, industry representatives, and other delegates, and hopefully for everyone.
For your convenience, Padlet is accessible from any mobile device, tablet, or PC directly through the provided links, with no need to download or install an application.
Upon accessing Padlet, please create a post with a brief professional profile, and consider adding a photo to facilitate recognition among participants. Few examples are provided for reference.
Additionally, a printed matrix displaying the names of all delegates will be available in the conference room. This board allows participants to directly indicate which delegates they would like to meet with.
Active participation in the networking sessions is strongly encouraged. However, if you prefer not to take part, kindly notify us by email at contact@chitin2025.org.
Thank you and let us make together of the ICCC/SIAQ conference a wonderful networking forum!
